20 walks/44 pages
Dolgellau, at the head of the magnificent Mawddach Estuary, is an ideal centre for exploring the whole of the southern half of the Snowdonia National Park. All of the walks in this book are located close to Dolgellau, with their starting points no more than a 25 minute drive away from the town, and all are in scenery that is remarkably varied and interesting. There are paths on high ridges, in open moorland and nature reserves, along rivers, lakes or the estuary, near waterfalls, following old mining tracks and among moss-cushioned boulders in woodlands of oak, beech, ash and birch. This new expanded edition now contains another fine summit, stunning views and ancient forests. There is also a splendid wheelchair-friendly walk.
