The first volume of Kittiwake's Lakes of Mid and North Wales only gave an inkling of how many lakes there are in this area. In this second volume some of the lesser known lakes as well as some that are blatantly obvious have been covered. There are walks to suit all levels of ability and ages. On many of these walks you will probably never meet another walker. Only the sheep will be your companions, plus the odd bird, rabbit, hare, fox or deer who will be watching your every move. Even much rarer animals can be seen, such as otters and pine martens. Lakes are quintessential features of mountain scenery and often give a sense of well being.

This re-titled volume has walks from the Carneddau in the north of Snowdonia all the way down to Llyn Clywedog near Llanidloes, just beyond the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. Some lake names will be familiar to regular walkers but some may just conjure up the feeling of well, where the heck is that one. Some of the walks are ideally suited for taking along a picnic with you. All can be enjoyed using this book.
